Hoda finished her PhD in Astrophysics in 2015 at the University of Barcelona.
A major part of her PhD research consisted of analysing large and noisy astronomical datasets to detect and characterise large-scale structural features in our galaxy. Additionally, she developed software to perform large simulations of the spatial and temporal behaviour of hundreds of millions of stars inside the Milky Way. After completing her PhD she was passionate about using and developing machine learning algorithms to get valuable insights from data. Outside work she enjoys cooking, travelling and reading poetry.
